I am Deborah, a CA credentialed middle school ELA teacher and reading interventionist.
After graduating from CSU San Marcos in 2014, I moved to Madrid, Spain to teach English for the first time. After spending two years in this role, I came back to California and pursued my CA multiple subjects teaching credential. The 2026 - 2027 school year will mark my eighth year as a teacher in California. I have taught grades 5-8, with most of experience being in the middle school setting teaching English Language Arts. Aside from my classroom experience, I have worked as a phonics and math tutor as well as a reading interventionist during the summer.
My approach to teaching is a mixture of entertainment and efficiency. I work hard to get to know my students so that I can learn to best support them. That said, I believe that helping students reach their goals needs to remain the number one priority, so I work tirelessly to make that happen.
