I am an undergraduate student at Columbia University in the City of New York, majoring in History and minoring in mathematics. I have a High School Diploma from San Diego High School. I am also a Suzuki Level X violinist who has played for over 11 years, and currently plays in Bach Society, a chamber orchestra at Columbia. I have a State Seal of Biliteracy in Spanish through the California Department of Education, and have an elementary proficiency in Korean and French.
I tutor in writing/English and math (up to pre-calculus) including for admissions tests like the ACT, SAT, and pSAT (on the 2024 ACT I received a composite 34). Through coursework at Columbia University, I am well versed in different types of academic and creative writing, and I love to help students find their voice and be effective writers in both college admissions and academic essays. In addition to this, I have a strong basis in classical western literature through courses at Columbia.
I have 2 semesters of experience in classroom instruction through my student position as Co-Editor in Chief of the San Diego High School Grey Castle Yearbook, where I created lesson plans, taught lessons, and gave individual and group feedback on journalistic writing, photography, and design.
