I am Daniel, and I have 5 years of experience in software development with hands-on experience using a wide range of technologies and digital tools.
I’ve worked on software projects used daily by business employees, giving me practical experience solving real-world problems through technology. In my day-to-day work, I use skills ranging from full-stack development to accounting, HR, sales, and business operations.
I earned my Associate’s degree from MiraCosta College and I’m currently attending San Diego State University pursuing a degree in marketing.
Outside of work and school, my hobbies include aquascaping, building closed-loop ecosystems, and surfing.
I’ve never been someone who learns most subjects quickly or effortlessly. I’ve often had to put in extra time to fully understand concepts, which led me to work extensively with tutors throughout my education. That experience shaped how I approach teaching and mentoring others.
Since I was around 10 or 11 years old, I’ve tutored on and off through friends, family, and informal mentoring opportunities. I also previously taught coding to students ages 4–12 for a private education company. I stepped away because I wanted to focus more on meaningful education and student growth rather than a profit-driven environment.
I have extensive experience working with students with autism, ADHD, and other special needs. My goal as a tutor is to create a comfortable, low-stress environment where students feel supported and understood. I work to adapt to each student’s learning style, goals, strengths, and challenges because everyone learns differently.
I’m willing to put in the extra time needed to help students succeed, including helping students work through tight deadlines when necessary. My job outside of tutoring is highly flexible, allowing me to accommodate a wide range of student schedules.
