I hold a master's degree in history from UC San Diego and am currently a PhD Candidate (ABD), with extensive training in world, comparative, and thematic history. My work as an academic has demanded advanced research, analytical writing, and the synthesis of complex historical material in diverse regions and time periods. I have a solid grounding in historical argumentation, primary source analysis, and evidence-based writing from my graduate studies that I carry straight into my tutoring.
Most of my tutoring and teaching experience the past fourteen years has been through working with students one-on-one and in classroom settings, supporting middle school, high school, and college-level learners. My work revolves around assisting students in producing coherent, well-organized arguments, enhancing their writing, and instilling confidence regarding historical content and comprehension. Instead of stressing memorization, I teach students to analyze sources and themes and to articulate their ideas in essays and written work.
In my sessions, I adjust my approach to each student’s individual needs and academic goals. My instruction includes preparation for upcoming exams or strengthening overall academic skills, with a focus on building consistent progress by introducing structured sessions that include concept review, guided practices, and targeted feedback. My goal is to help develop a student’s critical thinking, analytical ability, and writing skills that will ultimately serve them in advanced academic settings.
