Hi, I'm Lou! I am a UC Berkeley graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Molecular and Cell Biology. I specialize in helping students build strong foundations in biology and chemistry while developing confidence, problem-solving skills, and effective study habits.

For AP Chem and Bio students, I offer interactive lessons using customized lecture slides and targeted practice problems to strengthen areas of weakness. Depending on the student’s needs, I also assign homework problems for additional practice. As AP Exam season approaches, I encourage students to attempt past FRQs independently before sessions so we can review difficult concepts, problem-solving approaches, and common mistakes together.

For MCAT students, I focus on both content mastery and passage-based reasoning strategies. I help students become familiar with the AAMC content outline and provide empty Google Doc templates for C/P, B/B, and P/S to use as a centralized study guide for organizing review, tracking weaknesses, and filling in content gaps over time. During sessions, students can request targeted content review (such as molecular biology techniques, acids and bases, or enzyme kinetics) or send passages from UWorld, Jack Westin, or AAMC materials for detailed breakdowns. For UWorld and Jack Westin passages, students can share test IDs in advance so we can efficiently review questions, passage strategy, and reasoning during the session. I teach students how to identify high-yield information, approach unfamiliar passages effectively, and use question stems and answer choices strategically under timed conditions.

For all students, I create a shared Google folder containing study planners, annotated slides, and practice resources to help keep everything organized.

Whether a student needs short-term support before an exam or long-term academic coaching, my goal is to help them strengthen their fundamentals, become more independent learners, and feel confident approaching challenging material.
