Hello!

My name is Mia and I am a very experienced science tutor. As a little background about myself, I received my Bachelors in Biology with a minor in Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience in 2019, completed the UCSD premedical post-baccalaureate program in 2020, and currently am in my third year of medical school at Rocky Vista University's College of Osteopathic Medicine, while concurrently completing my Masters in Integrative Nutrition through Bastyr University.

Since 2015, I have been privately tutoring kids from grade school to high school level in Science, English and Math, and used to work as a teaching assistant/private tutor for SDSU’s human anatomy department. I also privately tutor fellow medical students in human anatomy, physiology and pharmacology, and thus have a very strong medical science background. I have taken and passed the USMLE Step 1, Step 2, COMLEX Level 1 and Level 2 on my first attempts, and am very well versed in test prep, as well as writing for college/graduate school application preparation.

I primarily do one-on-one lessons, and my teaching style aims to strengthen any weaknesses you may have, while teaching you study skills to make learning more fun. In the first session, I like to get to know you better as a student so we can see what teaching method would be best for me to utilize for you, while also going over a few topics to start. Prior to each of our following sessions, I will ask for any specific topics you want to focus on, and any learning objectives that your school may provide so I can prepare a personalized study guide of information for you that I will share during our session. Before any big exams, I also create personalized practice questions based on the information we cover and I will review these with you to help strengthen your test taking skills.
