I’m a K–12 school leader and AP teacher with a Master’s degree in Communications and over seven years of classroom experience in California, currently serving as the principal of a performing arts academy where I also teach and design AP curricula. I specialize in AP World History: Modern, AP United States History, AP Human Geography, AP Macroeconomics, and AP U.S. Government & Politics, as well as academic writing, DBQ/LEQ/SAQ coaching, study strategies, and executive-function support. My primary focus is high school (grades 9–12), though I have also worked with middle school students, teaching in full classrooms, small-group bootcamps, and one-on-one sessions both in person and online. I build College Board–aligned syllabi and assessments, run AP exam prep intensives, and create targeted plans based on diagnostics to address each student’s needs. My approach combines skill-first, rubric-driven instruction with deliberate practice, timed drills, and actionable feedback, focusing on exactly what the AP rubrics reward—whether it’s thesis crafting, contextualization, HIPP sourcing, spatial analysis, graphing, or argument writing. Every session includes clear objectives, live coaching, and a feedback loop that tracks progress on rubric rows and item types, with parents receiving transparent updates. I also equip students with effective study systems such as spaced repetition, retrieval practice, and test-day routines to boost confidence and retention. Using released AP questions, rubrics, aligned practice sets, and collaborative tools like Google Docs and virtual whiteboards, I ensure each session is structured, efficient, and tailored to the student. My cross-disciplinary expertise allows me to connect concepts across courses, helping students see the bigger picture while improving their exam performance, organization, and time management. Friendly, patient, and direct, I provide specific next steps after every session so students leave knowing exactly how to improve and what to practice next.
