I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Brigham Young University in Electrical Engineering in three years. I then went on to graduate from Carnegie Mellon University with my Masters in Robotic Systems Development. Throughout all of my schooling, I got A's or above on all but two of my classes (in which I got A minuses). I understand how school works and how grading works. Getting good grades requires learning the material, but also hard work and sometimes, a good mentor. The same can be said about studying for the MCAT, GRE, or another standardized test. I took the GRE in 2022 and got a perfect score on the quantitative section. The secret to my success was practice. I can show you how to do the same thing!
During my time at BYU, I lectured a circuits class, a second-year class in the Electrical Engineering program. I served as a TA in an Ethics in Robotics class for a semester at CMU helping undergraduate and graduate students.
I customize my approach to the student's needs and preferences. I like to follow the "I do - we do - you do" model in which I first demonstrate a concept that is confusing, then we work on a problem together, enabling you to do it by yourself. Depending on the student, I may judge it to be a waste of time for me to demonstrate. For instance, in the case of working on a homework problem and you are only stuck on one part of it, I might have you walk me through your reasoning up to that point so I can identify the problem and address it in detail rather than hashing out things you already know. I encourage students to work by themselves before seeing me so they can pinpoint what they don't understand and get the most out of our sessions!
