Hello, my name is Felix! I current hold a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from California State University, Channel Islands and passed the California Basic Educator Skills Test (CBEST). I also graduated with a 3.8 from University of San Diego with a Masters Degree in Cybersecurity Engineering. During my time as a student, I realized that the act of learning and connecting the theories and topics together was the best, and my most favorable part. I was fully engaged had numerous mentors along the way that helped me understand each lesson/subject. I love to pay it forward by bringing the sense care to students and building great rapport as my tutoring style. In addition, I've helped students break down complex topics, prepped for upcoming exams, and graded their assignments and provided feedback to help them improve.
I've previously worked as an AVID Tutor, where I've worked with students in AP English and AP History. In addition, we also go over the necessities of studying techniques at the collegiate level. I've also tutored elementary and middle school students at where I've assisted with homework, classroom activities, and created a positive and engaging environment that encouraged creativity and confidence. Recently, I instructed an online course for students who were in the workforce looking to be more competitive in the job market. I provided 1-on-1 sessions with them on the basics of job hunting, resume building, and some computer programs such as Microsoft Office and Email. I am committed to meeting any students where they feel comfortable, whether it'd be at the public library, or on an online session.
