Hello! My name is Seraphina. I am a neuroscientist and teacher, and love helping others learn. I got my bachelor's degree in 2017 at San Diego State University, where I double majored in biology and psychology and minored in interdisciplinary studies. I received my PhD in neurosciences from the University of California, San Diego in 2023. My first tutoring experiences were in college; I worked as an AVID tutor during my first couple of years, and as a student athlete tutor for my last couple of years. I helped students in a wide variety of subjects ranging from math and science to writing and women's studies. These experiences helped me realize early on that I love teaching.

I got more formal teaching experience in graduate school, where I was a teaching assistant for a graduate neuroanatomy class as well as an undergraduate neurobiology laboratory class. I also had several one-on-one mentoring experiences with college and high school students. More recently, I have had more formal teaching experience in creating my own class at San Diego State University - Foundations of Neuroimaging, which I teach to undergraduate and graduate students in psychology. I am happy to help students in biological and psychological sciences, math (algebra, geometry), statistics, learning R and SPSS, research methods, writing, and standardized test preparation.
