For the last 16 years, I have owned and operated a career technical education school (CTE). However, the thing that has brought me the most joy is teaching and mentoring aspiring (and more than a few experienced) healthcare professionals. In June of 2024, I closed my career technical education (CTE) school and retired. In two weeks I was itching to teach again. So, here I am.

Here's some of my background in the field: Beach Life Guard, Ocean Rescue, Fire Fighter, EMT, EMT-P (Paramedic), RN, Air Medical Flight Nurse
I have teaching certifications in: National Association of EMS Educators certification 1 and 2
American Heart Association Instructor certifications x 16 years CPR/ First Aid, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Basic Life Support
National Association of EMTs (NAEMT) Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS)
The style I follow with all tutoring and teaching is taking complex ideas and breaking them down into simplified pieces, easy to understand, digest, and build upon.
My goal is not to show how smart I am, but to show the student how smart and capable they are. I've taught in the classroom, in an online format, tutored online and in-person, provided hybrid learning opportunities, and volunteered to assist students who were struggling with test anxiety or psychomotor skills.
Whether tutoring for EMT skills check off for National Registry, helping an experienced telemetry nurse navigate an ACLS prep course, or tutoring a medic student with pharmacology, or cardiology, etc. My goal is to lift the student, laugh a little, and create an environment where learning is fun, and free from stress.
