Hello, my name is Bella, and I recently graduated from ASU with a degree in mechanical engineering. I have always loved math and science. I believe that every student just needs one great math or science teacher to unlock a great appreciation for the subject. As an engineer my classes all required an in depth understanding of - algebra, geometry, calculus, and physics. My favorite subject was dynamics, which required physics, algebra, and geometry to solve complex problems. What fun! During my time at ASU I was able to maintain a 4.0 GPA while balancing sports and a social life. I believe this is due to my approach with homework and studying. When I tutor students, I instill this approach in them. A typical session will involve- going over previous assignments to learn from mistakes, creating personal note sheets to set the foundation of the topic, then doing practice problems. While this process is amazing for acing classes, the specifics of how the topics are explained/ approached is different for every student.
I have tutored students ages 8 to 22. I am very familiar with working with/ teaching children as I have worked many camps and lots of youth lacrosse coaching. I believe learning should be fun and engaging, and I strive to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions. I offer both in-person and online sessions, depending on what works best for you. When I'm not tutoring, you can find me playing sports, rock climbing, snowboarding, or drawing.
