Hello, my name is Bella, and I recently graduated from ASU with a degree in mechanical engineering. I have always loved math and science. Hello, my name is Bella, and I recently graduated from ASU with a degree in mechanical engineering. I have always loved math and science. I believe that every student just needs one great math or science teacher to unlock a great appreciation for the subject. As an engineer my classes all required an in depth understanding of - algebra, geometry, calculus, and physics. My favorite subject was dynamics, which required physics, algebra, and geometry to solve complex problems. What fun! During my time at ASU I was able to maintain a 4.0 GPA while balancing sports and a social life. I believe this is due to my approach with homework and studying. When I tutor students, I instill this approach in them. A typical session will involve- going over previous assignments to learn from mistakes, creating personal note sheets to set the foundation of the topic, then doing practice problems. While this process is amazing for acing classes, the specifics of how the topics are explained/ approached is different for every student.

I have tutored students ages 8 to 22. I am very familiar with working with/ teaching children as I have worked many camps and lots of youth lacrosse coaching. I believe learning should be fun and engaging, and I strive to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions. I offer both in-person and online sessions, depending on what works best for you. When I'm not tutoring, you can find me playing sports, rock climbing, snowboarding, or drawing.

Algebra 2

Algebra 2

During my time at ASU I completed multiple calculus and science classes which use algebra as the foundation. I have a deep understanding of algebra. This in depth understanding allows me to offer many different approaches to solving problems. Everyone is different and the best approach for a student isn’t one size fits all.
Geometry

Geometry

Many of my mechanical engineering classes required geometry. We use lots of triangles to understand relationships between forces. Geometry is very cool and with a good foundational understanding can be made much easier.
Lacrosse

Lacrosse

I played lacrosse throughout high school and college. I have coached lacrosse in arizona for desert stix. I was captain of my team last year, we got second place at regionals beating 10 other teams to earn a bid to nationals in kansas.
MATLAB

MATLAB

I completed a thesis in my time at undergrad which used MATLAB in order to process data from a motion capture system and virtual reality system. With this data I used MATLAB to plot locations and understand movement and rotation. For my thesis alone, I worked with MATLAB almost everyday over the course of a year. I also used MATLAB for my classes.
Mechanical Engineering

Mechanical Engineering

I completed courses in material science, structural mechanics, thermodynamics while maintaining a 4.0 grade point average. I am able to tutor students in ungrad level structural mechanics and thermodynamics.
Physics

Physics

In order to obtain an engineering degree I took many classes that required a foundational knowledge of physics. These classes were mechanics of materials, thermodynamics, and dynamics classes. I love physics and how you can understand the world with it. I would love to share this love and knowledge with other curious students!
Precalculus

Precalculus

During my time at ASU I had to complete many calculus courses and use it in my other classes. Calculus is a tool used in engineering to make more precise calculations. A good understanding in precalculus is so important for excelling in calculus. I love to help my students create that strong foundation!
