Bio

As a first-generation college student myself, I am passionate about education. In my current full-time professional role, I am an education strategy consultant and I have devoted my professional life to education and finding ways to better support students and families in the process.

As a first-generation college student myself, I am passionate about education. In my current full-time professional role, I am an education strategy consultant and I have devoted my professional life to education and finding ways to better support students and families in the process.

I have extensive work experience in K12 and higher education; in K-12, I have been a teacher (grades PK-12) and an AVID tutor (organizational skills, growth mindset, college preparation). In higher education, I have been a Research Assistant and Grad Assistant. I have also served as a Teaching Assistant for both undergraduate and graduate courses. Importantly, I have experience tutoring in-person and virtually, in both one-on-one and group settings.

I really enjoy tutoring high school students in AP/regular US Government & Politics and helping students prepare for the writing sections of the ACT and SAT; I also have extensive experience supporting students with college applications, essay writing, and other college preparation activities. For college students, I enjoy supporting undergraduate students in Political Science courses. If you're an undergraduate student preparing for graduate school, I can also help you prepare for the GRE writing section.

I graduated summa cum laude from the University of Arizona, and hold a bachelor's degree (BA) in Political Science with a minor in Spanish. I also hold a master's degree in public policy analysis (MPP) from the University of Chicago with a certificate in Policy Analysis alongside a M.A. Certificate in Education and Society. Finally, I am also currently enrolled in an online MBA program with the University of Kansas School of Business. When I am not working or tutoring, you can likely find me at a college or professional sporting event, playing pickleball, or traveling! I have greatly benefitted from academic and career mentorship over the course of academic and professional experiences. I have worked with entry-level professionals in finding sustainable employment in their career field of interests and have worked with early career professionals in developing resumes and cover letters for job applications. I actively serve as an Alumni Mentor with the University of Arizona School of Government and Public Policy and with the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago.

For nearly a decade, I have worked directly with high school students preparing for college. I have supported students with identifying a list of schools that fit their academic qualifications and have meaningfully served students with similar student profiles. I have extensive experience with helping students identify target, reach, and safety schools and have worked alongside them in all facets of admissions, including application, acceptance, enrollment, and financial aid and scholarships. Previous students I have supported have gone on to attend institutions including but not limited to NYU, Princeton, University of Southern California, Pepperdine, UNC Chapel Hill, Duke, and University of Chicago.

I earned my Masters in Public Policy Analysis (MPP) from the University of Chicago. I have experience working for two United States Senators, for an international non-governmental organization (NGO) and a non-profit that works directly with legislators across the country. In my current role, I routinely analyze the effects of state policy decisions on student outcomes. I also monitor and track relevant legislation at the state and federal level. Finally, while in high school, I earned a 5 on the AP US Government & Politics test and earned significant college credit for my score.

I graduated summa cum laude (3.96 GPA) from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. I continued my education in a related field, and hold a Masters of Public Policy (MPP) from the University of Chicago. I have taken over a dozen political science courses throughout my education. I have also previously served as a teaching assistant and tutor for a wide variety of college political science courses.
SAT Writing

SAT Writing

I have supported several students with preparing for the SAT writing section. Personally, I scored in the top 15% of test takers during my senior year of high school and since then, I have only continued to strengthen my writing ability. Beyond the SAT, I have also demonstrated my strong writing ability with high scores on the ACT and GRE writing sections. Finally, I have tutored students and supported them with developing their writing skills online and in-person, and this experience gives me the ability to meet unique tutoring needs.

Throughout my education, I have had to write and have my writing critiqued. In high school, I was coached by a nationally-recognized writing instructor. In college, I never received a grade lower than 90% on a writing assignment. I scored in the 91st percentile on the GRE writing section, the 85th percentile on the SAT writing section, and the 90th percentile on the ACT writing section. In graduate school, I wrote a 65-page masters thesis and earned an A+. In my professional career, I have written published reports that are viewed by state education leaders.
