Becoming a nurse is a gift you give yourself. I want to help people become nurses. My career started a little late. My first BS was in Therapeutic Recreation. I then went back for my BSN. During my time completing my BSN I said yes to opportunities that came along, I challenged myself by working in the emergency department, I sat in on curriculum meetings, and I participated in the NCLEX review classes that were new at that time. After working in the ED for about 8 years I received the opportunity to become a part of an accelerated hospital/state university BSN program and taught nursing students--skills lab, physical assessment, gerontology and med surg. I loved sharing my knowledge and passion for nursing and helping students learn and grow in their nursing careers. I went on to achieve my MSN in Nursing Education to help improve my teaching and to further my career.
I have a very practical approach and understanding of nursing skills and content and believe by breaking things down it makes them easier to understand.
