I am committed to helping my students. I also expect them to be committed to doing their best. The study of literature, language, and writing is not easy, but I try to engage my students with knowledge that will help them maneuver through their lessons and become more proficient. I like to make connections for my students between what they know and what they need to learn. I use a variety of strategies and methods according to each individual.

I love to teach and love to make it as interesting as possible. I want my students to be eager to learn. I have always gotten along well with my students. It is important to me to create a good relationship with them. I challenge my students without overwhelming them. My goal in teaching is to help all of my students be successful.
I love language, literature, and writing. I am a strong believer that writing is a process, and proofreading and rewriting is essential. I have taught English mostly to juniors and seniors. I have taught regular English classes as well as AP Literature and Composition and AP Language and Composition. I have seen my students become better readers and writers. Many of my students have scored well on the AP tests.
I am anxious to help make all of my students reach their goals. I look forward to hearing from students who need help in literature, language, or writing.
