I am Mark and thank you for checking out my profile.
I directed school music programs for 18 years. I retired from public school and have been teaching privately for over 5 years. I work with 70+ students each week, both online and in person. I am Mark and thank you for checking out my profile.
I directed school music programs for 18 years. I retired from public school and have been teaching privately for over 5 years. I work with 70+ students each week, both online and in person. I have a California Teaching Credential in Music (K-12), and I am a Royal Conservatory of Music instructor. (www.rcmusic.com)
As a School Music Director, I taught:
Concert Band, Marching Band, String Orchestra, Jazz Band and Jazz Choir, Concert and Acapella Choir, Piano, Guitar, Rock Band, Computer Music, Music Production, and AP Music Theory.

I started on flute in the 4th grade - tuba, and Double Bass in high school. Over the years I have played in a variety of groups: symphony orchestra, string orchestra, concert band, jazz band, rock bands, jazz combos, and jazz choir. I spend my off time producing/composing music in my own recording studio. I attended American River College where I received my Associate of Arts Degree in Music, I then transferred to California State University, Long Beach, where I received a Bachelor of Music Degree in Composition and began work on my Master's and Teaching Credential in Music.

I do online lessons and I have openings at various times:
Pacific time 6 am to 12 pm Various times on weekends

  • Rate details: I usually teach 1/2 hour lessons, once a week, at $22 per lesson. I charge a $10 missed lesson fee if you miss a scheduled lesson and do not contact me.

I taught High School music programs which included Marching Band and Drumline. In the fall the band marched in parades and played at school functions. In the fall we marched an indoor drumline show. I also taught drums in Rock Band classes.

Flute was my first instrument (4th grade). I have played/taught woodwind instruments (flute, clarinet, saxophone) for 30+ years. I taught concert band, symphony orchestra, and woodwind ensembles. I currently teach students of all ages from 5 to 40+. I focus on reading and playing skills, with theory and history included.

I taught piano for many years in person and now in private lessons. In all my classes I focused on well-rounded instruction with an emphasis on reading and playing skills, including theory and history. I presently teach students of all ages beginning to Intermediate.
