My educational background is in both Physics (B.S. from UC Davis) and Electrical Engineering (M.S. from CSU Sacramento). Professionally, I was a tutor at Folsom Lake College, Learning Skills Dept., and then became the manager of the entire program, teaching tutors how to become better. I was a High School teacher for a couple of years, and now I am a Professor of Physics at multiple institutions including: Folsom Lake College, Sierra College, California Northstate University, and CSU Sacramento. I have a lot of experience teaching in a classroom setting and one-on-one.

Tutoring is a genuine passion of mine. I love to help students grasp their material at a high level and unlock their potential. I am flexible in my schedule and location. I love tutoring things as basic as Algebra 2, or as complex as Quantum Mechanics. My favorite subject to teach is introductory physics, either calculus-based or trigonometry-based.

Physics is a subject that, once I started to learn, I couldn't get enough of. I've tutored physics for many years now since 2013. I've helped a lot of people learn to love the subject too. I try to show the elegance behind the math descriptions of our physical world, but I also like to offer the most straightforward approach to solving physics problems of any level.

I am a laid back tutor who will challenge you to learn at your best. I am flexible with making and changing appointments, and I will adapt to your learning style to make our sessions as effective as possible. Even in a time crunch, I am available to schedule with you, and I can give you the help you need in a timely manner.

Approved Subjects

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I can tutor Algebra 1 at a city college, high school, or middle school level. If there is one branch of mathematics that I've supposedly mastered, it's Algebra 1.
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

I use Algebra 2 so extensively, I am forced to live and breathe it. I can offer many different approaches on all topics which can suit many different student needs.
Calculus

Calculus

In college, I took and later tutored Calculus I, II, III and Differential Equations. Calculus is the basic math foundation for most of physics and engineering, so using it is a no-brainer for me. But more importantly, I remember how I struggled with it, and along with 5+ years of experience of tutoring Calculus, I can show very straightforward approaches to problems and theory, helping you to remember more information on test day. Homework is crucial, and if the current class' homework problems are insufficient in substance or practice, then I will assign extra homework to complete once a week. I've found that this is a big help for most students in Calculus especially.
Differential Equations

Differential Equations

I first took Intro to Differential Equations at American River College in 2014 and upper division ordinary differential equations and upper division partial differential equations at UC Davis in 2014 and 2015. I tutored differential equations every semester after first taking it, so I am used to the introductory first course content and how to tutor it.
Electrical Engineering

Electrical Engineering

At UC Davis, I took multiple courses on: electric circuits I and 2, electronic active circuits, systems and signals, device and semiconductor physics, and electromagnetic theory. EE was a subject that came harder to me due to more applications, approximations, models, etc., so I learned how to learn this subject from a very approachable view. Due to that, these are actually the easiest courses for me to tutor since I usually know the challenging areas.
Linear Algebra

Linear Algebra

After taking Linear Algebra and further mastering it in coursework involving Signals and Systems, Quantum Mechanics, Condensed Matter Physics, Fourier Analysis, etc., I've gained a lot of insight into the subject. Its applications are ubiquitous in a lot of science and engineering, and the type of reading is very crucial for this subject. I find it very beneficial for Linear Algebra students to follow my reading homeworks - basically making sure you're understanding the book's main points and derivations.
Physics

Physics

I have a B.S. in Physics, and am a current UCSD nanoengineering graduate student. I have 5+ years experience with all levels of physics tutoring.
Precalculus

Precalculus

Precalculus is basically an extension of Algebra and Trigonometry. Both are extremely important in Calculus, hence Precalculus was established to solidify students' concepts and push their current skills before moving on. I have tutored Precalculus many times at the high school and college level (not much of a difference), and I find myself using its material frequently in my own life. Because this kind of math is built so much upon repetition, I find it best to assign extra homework problems (that don't take too long), and they should be done on a daily basis to maximize retention and minimize workload.
