I am a California-credentialed Career Technical Education educator in the Public Services and Business and Finance industry sectors. I earned an Associate of Arts degree in Administration of Justice from Sierra College and am currently completing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology at California State University, Chico. My professional background includes several years of leadership and administrative experience in private security and public safety.
My instructional experience includes training and mentoring adult security professionals, explaining workplace policies and procedures, supporting employee development, and presenting public-service and career information to high school students. I recently delivered a presentation at Mesa Verde High School concerning careers and educational pathways in public services and business. Although I have not yet been employed as a traditional classroom teacher, my CTE credential, industry knowledge, leadership experience, and educational presentations have prepared me to support students in practical and academic settings.
I can help high school, college, and adult learners with sociology, criminal justice, administration of justice, public-safety career preparation, study skills, research assignments, and academic writing. My tutoring approach is patient, encouraging, and individualized. I explain information in manageable steps, use real-world examples, and adjust my approach to each student’s learning needs. As a first-generation college student, I understand that asking for help can sometimes feel intimidating, so I work to create a respectful environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing confidence.
