One of my favorite parts of supporting students in their reading, writing, and literary analysis skills is seeing students build upon and explore their own thinking, while also growing in their confidence and ability to express their insights and ideas. Students are finding and developing their own voice, which is a very special thing. I am honored to be a part of this journey by sharing my expertise around close reading strategies and tools, writing and grammar instruction, and structures for more confidently engaging in the writing process.

I have been in roles supporting students for nearly five years, both including in the classroom environment as a teacher, in the classroom in small-group or 1:1 supportive roles, and outside of the classroom as a private tutor. My teaching experiences have been in grades K-5, but my tutoring experience has ranged from elementary to high school as well. As a tutor, I have offered support in homework, online learning, and English learning. I take a strengths-based approach, and am eager to discuss how I can provide the most support, whether in the case of students who feel they are falling behind or are in need of extra challenge.

I am flexible to help with a variety of subjects, but my specialties are around language and literature, and I graduated with highest honors in English from UC Davis. I am also available to help with AP Language and Literature test preparation, as well as SAT and ACT test preparation.
