I became a tutor because I genuinely enjoy helping students gain confidence in subjects that once felt overwhelming. I earned my B.S. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from UC Davis, where I also worked as a peer tutor and completed tutoring training course. That experience helped me build a strong foundation in instructional strategies, communication skills, and ways to break down complex concepts so students can approach them with clarity and confidence.

Over the years, I have worked as a private tutor with students of many ages and backgrounds. I also currently substitute teach with a 30-day sub permit, and my favorite part of that role is working in the learning center. Supporting students in small groups allows me to focus on individual needs and guide them through material at a pace that works best for them. My teaching experience includes one-on-one sessions, small-group instruction, and full classroom settings, both in person and online, which has helped me adapt easily to different learning styles and environments.

I believe that effective tutoring is personalized, patient, and collaborative. I spend time identifying the concepts students struggle with and create custom, tailored study guides and practice materials to reinforce those areas. Whether I am helping a student prepare for an exam, strengthen foundational skills, or simply build confidence in a subject, my goal is to make learning approachable and empowering. I value working with diverse learners and strive to create a supportive, encouraging atmosphere where every student feels capable of succeeding.

Approved Subjects

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

As a substitute teacher, I frequently work with small groups of students who need extra support in building their elementary math skills. I’ve seen firsthand how having a strong foundation in early math can make the rest of a student’s school experience so much easier and more enjoyable. I’m passionate about helping young learners develop confidence with the basics so they can approach new concepts without fear or frustration. My goal is always to create a patient, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable, supported, and proud of their progress.
Chemistry

Chemistry

I know firsthand how intimidating chemistry can feel—I actually cried over it in high school and barely passed. When I reached college, I decided to give it another try, leaned on tutoring for support, and ended up falling in love with the subject so much that I majored in Pharmaceutical Chemistry at UC Davis. Because I’ve been on both sides of the struggle, I’m able to connect with students who feel stuck or discouraged and help them see that they can understand this material. My goal is always to explain chemistry in a way that feels approachable, encouraging, and genuinely supportive.
