Juan Carlos has a Master’s degree in Classical Saxophone Performance from the University of the Arts of Helsinki (Sibelius Academy of Finland). He also holds a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Saxophone Performance from the Superior Conservatory of Salamanca (Spain). He has a wide variety of teaching and group managing experience at the K-12, conservatory and university level. He has experience teaching music and serving as a band director for the Elk Grove Unified School District and the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District in Northern California. Juan Carlos has also taught saxophone, flute and clarinet at music schools in Sacramento, Vacaville and Helsinki (Finland). Juan Carlos taught several master classes in different European countries such as Norway, Finland, and Spain. Although his work has been primarily in Europe, he has been invited to teach several master classes in the United States. Juan Carlos taught and performed at Shenandoah University in Winchester Virginia, as well as at American University of Washington DC. Also speaks Spanish.
