My name is Madison and I have been tutoring math for the past eight years. I specialize in high level mathematics including calculus, trigonometry, geometry, and algebra. I understand that some topics appear difficult or confusing at first; thus I strive to push students to realize their full potential by breaking down these daunting topics. I enjoy using clear examples and visuals to make learning more approachable and make the topics easier to understand.

Throughout my education I have received A’s or higher in every math class I have taken including Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry, AP Calc AB, AP Stats, IB Math Applications & Interpretations, and college level calculus through differential equations. I have also received 5’s in the AP Calc AB and AP Stats exams. In addition to a 7 on the IB Math Applications & Interpretations exam.

In the past I have tutored a high school junior taking AP Calc AB. Whenever the student came across a specific topic they were struggling with we would schedule a one-on-one meeting where I would use various examples to clarify any of the student’s confusions and deepen their understanding of the topic. This student went on to pass their class and pass the AP exam. I have also tutored a college sophomore taking college level calculus as a GE. I regularly met with this student to consistently guide them through homework assignments and prepare for assessments. Following the course lecture I would meet with the student to ensure completion of pending homework assignments while providing support such as quick content reviews or minor guidance as was necessary. Then, prior to assessments, I would facilitate review sessions to ensure the student understood all relevant topics and felt confident to take their assessment. This student went on to pass their class with a B after failing the class two times prior with other tutoring support. Thus my tutoring experience is in one-on-one tutoring, focused on explaining topics through specific examples.
