I am an English Major with a Masters in Education and I am currently working on my Masters in Linguistics. I have tutored for ACT/SAT Prep, taught English to high-schoolers (9th-12th grade), provided tutoring services for ELA, Reading/Writing, and grammar for students ranging from ages 7-14, and I am currently a teacher for English as a Second Language for Adult learners. I have been a teacher for about 7 years. I work with students one-on-one for individual essay help/correction and writing workshops or just standard grammar and conversational skills.

I am very patient and enjoy working with students who struggle in English/Language Arts. I take teaching very seriously, but I also like to connect with students in whom I am assisting. I always start off with getting to know your interests so that I can use those interests to help you learn different strategies for topics that you may not enjoy.

I have worked with students in some of the following areas: Reading/Writing workshops; proofreading; assisting with providing evidence for writing; vocabulary. I utilize many visual strategies to help students actually learn content, and I focus a lot on building vocabulary (e.g., synonyms, antonyms, creating sentences, providing visuals, etc.) while also incorporating many popular culture references.

I have been told on multiple occasions, and from many of my students, that I have really allowed them to enjoy learning English. I make them feel comfortable to make mistakes and I am very approachable. I hope to do the same with you and provide you with an excellent experience in learning!
