I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Creative Writing from the University of California, Riverside. I've worked with, and been critiqued by, award-winning authors and for my major coursework I was constantly reading and editing the papers of my peers while simultaneously writing my own. This has given me a love and understanding of the English language that I hope to be able to share with students. I have spent the past 2 and a half years in Shanghai, China teaching English to Chinese students from ages 3-18, as well as tutoring adults. I am currently a Behavior Therapist for children with Autism.
I specialize in tutoring a wide-range of English/Language Arts subjects such as reading, writing, and literature. I would be happy to proofread essays and provide constructive feedback. If given proper notice I can reacquaint myself with necessary reading materials before a session. I am also able to provide writing prompts and reading assessments if that is more helpful for a students' personal goals.
I am generally available for tutoring every day from 3pm until 9pm. I can travel to meet students in Riverside and the surrounding areas, but can also provide online sessions as well. I do require that the first session to be in a public space for personal safety reasons.
