Fun, Positive, and Successful: PhD, Six Master's, Air Force Captain

Hello!

My name is Jeeyoung, and I am excited to have a chance to be your tutor. I have a PhD in Leadership Studies, in addition to five master's degrees (English, Business, Divinity, Ministry, and Film Acting). In March of 2016, I also finished my degree program for an EdS (Educational Specialist) in Educational Psychology with a Brain Science & Learning concentration.

As you can see from my resume, I have also had a variety of work experiences. I've been a radio DJ, US Navy officer (Chaplain Candidate Program), university adjunct faculty, and a Veterans Hospital chaplain. In June of 2024, I also got commissioned as an Air Force Reserve chaplain (O-3/Captain). Specifically, my teaching experience has ranged from private tutoring (English conversation, American culture, and writing) to working with students at the university level for Brain Science, educational philosophy, ESL, and College Writing. Lastly, I have also volunteered as a Mediator for the LA County Department of Consumer and Business Affairs for court and community disputes.

Personally, my interests include music (playing the piano and singing), filmmaking (producing, writing, and acting). As a human being, my worldview revolves around the conviction that my daily life--demeanor, words, and actions--is the most important opportunity to inspire those around me.

Finally, I believe that having the opportunity to teach someone is one of the greatest honors one can have. I do not take that responsibility lightly, although my classes are always known to be personal, lighthearted, and inviting. I look very forward to meeting you and making learning fun, positive, and successful!
