Hello and welcome! I am Christina. I graduated with my Master’s from Stanford University in Sustainable Design and Construction Management, and Bachelor’s from UC Davis in Civil Engineering. I currently am a working professional, but my passion is 1-on-1 teaching and seeing my students progress and succeed in their goals.
I graduated with excellence in academics and heavy involvement in campus leadership at both universities, and was a Graduate Teacher’s Assistant at Stanford. I have tutored students in a variety of subjects, from SAT/ACT/GRE test prep, college/scholarship applications, English and Writing, ESL, resume and interview prep, presentation and Public Speaking, and visual art, among others.
My teaching repertoire covers a wide range, but the common factor is my love for teaching and helping my students reach their full potential. I have mentored many students and young adults successfully 1-on-1 through SAT/ACT/GRE testing, undergrad and graduate applications, resumes and interview preparation, as well as internships and industry training. I have taught class sizes of 20-25 K-12 students at weekend Chinese school, and volunteered as an after-school tutor for groups of 5-10 underserved local students. I have also been a privately retained 1-on-1 tutor for Chinese students seeking to improve their ESL and writing skills, with one of my students graduating top of her English class. Outside of the classroom, I have helped teach teens and adults at hands-on clinics in horsemanship, taught archery lessons, and managed summer camps.
Bottom line is, I truly enjoy teaching and am very good at it. My strength is in identifying yours, and helping you build up both your technical skills and confidence. Whatever subject(s) you are seeking to improve, I will work with you individually to develop a tailored timeline and set of goals and support you to accomplish them.
