Hey there, I’m Dennis! I’m currently an undergraduate student at University of California, Riverside studying computer science. Before transferring here, I graduated from community college where I received my Associate Degree with an emphasis in Science and Mathematics, during which I worked in a variety of on-campus positions tutoring students from a wide set of backgrounds. With over a year of experience in tutoring, I’ve gotten to work with people ranging from young adults who were fresh high school graduates to nontraditional students who were older and returned to college later in life. In addition, I’ve also helped individuals with learning disabilities who needed special accommodations. Over time, learning how to not only be an effective tutor, but also listen & cater to every student’s individual needs and how to best help them has been such a rewarding experience, and it’s reflected in their confident attitudes as well as better test scores!
I’ve primarily tutored Mathematics, teaching Algebra, Precalculus and Calculus; however, I’ve also helped students with Physics, Computer Science, and programming classes. During my time in college, I spent many years learning web development and I gained valuable experience in internships as well as even a full-time software developer role at one point. When hosting sessions, I’ve had appointments that were one-on-one and I’ve also taught in group settings with multiple students simultaneously. I also went the extra mile for students who requested extra tutoring during crucial periods like an important test or final exam coming up, so I try to be quite flexible!
Please feel free to reach out and contact me with any questions or requests that may come up; I’ll always prioritize being prompt in responding. I’m excited to help in any way that I can, so don’t hesitate to schedule a lesson and I’ll be looking forward to fun and interactive sessions!
