Hi, I'm Nigah! I’m a UCLA graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a deep passion for education, mentorship, and helping students gain confidence in their learning. Throughout my undergraduate years, I worked extensively as both a tutor and academic mentor, providing individualized support across a wide range of subjects. I’ve helped students strengthen their understanding of core topics in biology, chemistry, writing, and general study skills, tailoring each session to the student’s needs and learning style.
For over three years, I served as an academic mentor and tutor through a structured mentorship program, working one-on-one with high school and college students. I supported them not only with subject-specific tutoring, but also with time management, exam preparation, and study strategies. I later became Co-Director of the mentorship program, where I developed training resources and coordinated mentor-mentee pairings. Additionally, through Students Organize for Syria, I tutored students in both STEM and humanities subjects and helped lead outreach efforts to expand educational access.
My tutoring style is supportive, patient, and student-centered. I prioritize creating a comfortable space where students feel encouraged to ask questions and make mistakes—because that’s where the real learning happens. Whether it's mastering biology concepts, preparing for a test, or building better study habits, I work to meet each student where they are and help them reach their academic goals with clarity and confidence.
