The best teachers allow themselves to be schooled by their students. They are open to new ideas and are not afraid to say "I don't know". I love my subjects. They are lifelong interests, whether or not I'm in a classroom.

My students come back each semester because I love what I do, which is making history make sense and reminding students that no man is above another, Whig or not. My least favorite topics are anything related to English and French aristocracy. The art is pretty cool though. I can do Italian Renaissance all day. Anything war-related too: particularly WWII, Nazi Germany, and the Holocaust. The founding of America is my favorite history of all. Most of all because it's still very much alive today.
MA in History (Modern European)
I have experience teaching the following courses, at college-level, both online and onsite.
U.S. History I and Our: Colonial to Civil War; Reformation to Cold War.
Western Civilization - humanities and the arts, government, culture, literature, philosophy, religion and science. Antiquity, Renaissance, Enlightenment, Modern
My favorite authors are Dostoyevsky and Cormac McCarthy.
I had an awesome professor/mentor throughout my undergrad education. She was really mean and serious but she knew her subject. She is a Leonardo scholar, so it was pretty much "shut up and pay attention". So Italian Renaissance, Mannerism, and Baroque are my strongest topics. My favorite artist is Jackson Pollock though. :)
I'll be around If you need me. I will probably not respond to urgent, last minute pleas. Give me at least a day or twos notice so I can make the necessary arrangements. I prefer phone calls but email works too. If you can't make a meeting or need to reschedule, don't apologize. Just make sure to stay in contact. I will do the same. So I guess by professionalism, I mean a basic respect for each other's time.
Oh and never give up. Hard work trump's genius every time. To work hard, however, a person usually needs a reason and a
