Hello! I’m William, a finance and economics professional with a passion for teaching. I studied Economics and Finance at the University of Pennsylvania, where I also minored in Mathematics, and later earned a Master’s in Financial Economics from Columbia University. Along the way, I completed my CPA certification, which gave me a strong foundation in accounting, auditing, and financial reporting.
My academic and professional training allows me to guide students through subjects ranging from microeconomics to corporate finance and investment analysis. I’m also experienced in quantitative research, with proficiency in tools such as Stata, R, Python, SAS, SPSS, EViews, Excel, and MATLAB. I use these not only for research but as teaching aids, showing students how to turn raw data into meaningful insights and apply statistical reasoning to real-world problems.
I’ve worked with students at both high school and college levels, covering economics, accounting, finance, statistics, and econometrics. At Penn’s Academic Resource Center, I tutored students in quantitative reasoning, and at Columbia, I served as a teaching assistant, leading review sessions and office hours on econometrics and finance.
My teaching style blends clear explanations with hands-on practice—problem sets, financial modeling, and data analysis—so students can engage directly with material. What I enjoy most is seeing that “aha moment” when a challenging concept finally clicks.
I welcome students eager to strengthen both knowledge and confidence in economics, finance, and quantitative analysis. Feel free to reach out with any questions or to schedule a session!
