In addition, I am in progress of earning my TEFL certification. The main subjects I work with are English, Proofreading and Grammar. However, I can offer tutoring in Art History, Marketing and Business. My goal is to help students study smarter and not harder. In other words, my lesson plans will make sure that they are self aware of what they need to focus on the most to improve. I want them to study to understand rather than just to chase a grade.
During college, I was a teacher's assistant for grades K-12 helping the teacher in their classrooms. Plus, I worked as a tutor for undergrad students for 3 years during graduate school. Although I would have 3 students at a time for sessions, I held one on one meetings for students that needed extra help. Since my sessions were held after day classes, I would be able to proofread and help students correct grammatical errors on their writing material. After all, not all students are self aware of their weaknesses despite being native speakers. In regards to the other subjects, I can give students suggestions on how to help them with test preparation and presentation for projects.
