Building Strong Foundations in Math, Reading, Phonics & Faith

I am a patient, encouraging, and organized elementary tutor with hands-on experience working with students from kindergarten through fifth grade. My teaching experience includes two years as a YMCA P.E. Coach in an elementary school setting, where I worked with students across all grade levels. I have also worked as a tutor for a tutoring company, at an elementary school site that allowed me to provide focused support in phonics, reading, and writing. These experiences have helped me develop strong communication, active listening, adaptability, and classroom management skills, allowing me to meet each student where they are academically and personally.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies from California State University, Northridge (CSUN) and completed an Associate Degree in Elementary Teacher Education at Los Angeles Pierce College, along with additional studies in STEM and Social and Behavioral Sciences. I also completed the teacher credential program at CSUN, gaining valuable student-teaching experience in both a kindergarten classroom and a fourth-grade classroom. I am currently working as a substitute teacher at a private school, continuing to build my experience working with elementary-aged students in a variety of classroom environments while awaiting the officiation of my credentials from the state of California.

As a tutor, I believe every child learns differently and deserves a learning environment where they feel supported, understood, and encouraged. I come prepared with engaging and age-appropriate instruction while remaining flexible to each student's individual learning style and needs. My goal is not only to help students strengthen their skills in subjects such as math, english, reading, phonics, and bible studies, but also to build their confidence, independence, and love of learning.
