I have taught English, history, and international relations at international schools in South Korea, Belgium, Saudi Arabia, Cambodia, and the United States, so I have experience with AP, IB, IGCSE, and A-Level classes.

I worked as a grader for the College Board last year for the first digital AP English Language exam, and I was professionally trained as a tutor at a test prep company.

I have several years of experience tutoring students for the SAT and ACT reading, writing, English, and science sections. I also have extensive experience producing reading and writing passages for SAT and ACT prep companies, and my work has been published in manuals.

I was an AP Scholar with Distinction (scores of five on five or more AP examinations) and a National Merit Scholar as well, scoring in the 99th percentile of PSAT test-takers. I majored in political science and Spanish language and literature at UC Berkeley, and I worked as a grader and teaching assistant in the political science department.

I am also an experienced ESL teacher with a TEFL/TESL certificate from UC Berkeley, and I have taught in schools and community colleges in the Bay Area. I have helped students with their studies for the IELTS and TOEFL as well.

In addition to all that, I have helped students with their college applications and essays, particularly with regard to editing and proof-reading.

I enjoy working with students, and I believe that an individualized approach combined with patience and understanding is always best.
