I am currently a credentialed high school math teacher on sabbatical with 5 years of teaching experience and 10 years of tutoring experience. My credential and MA in Teaching were from Santa Clara, and I received an MA in Economics from San Francisco State and a BA in Government Studies from Lawrence University.

At SFSU I also completed coursework requisite for a BS in Mathematics. Finally, I am also a musician. I teach all levels of bass, upright and electric, and beginning guitar and drums. I teach composition, reading, improvisation, and bow technique.

Great Lesson

I found this lesson helpful. I got to learn how to pick out the main ideas of the passage and write an essay. The one thing I wish was mentioned was how to pick out the persuasive elements because I have seen in example essays that a lot of past students talk about the persuasive elements the author uses. Other than that, the lesson over all helped me be able to write a better essay by picking out the three main ideas the author is arguing.

Thorough, patient, and very attentive!

My son has always struggled with reading and writing - especially getting started. Justin managed to get our son interested and engaged with the material. Writing was no longer a hassle that caused him stress and his grades drastically improved! Furthermore, he seems to really care about his students, making them his top priority.
