I graduated from Brown University with a Bachelor of Science (with Honors) degree in Biology. I graduated from Brown University with a Bachelor of Science (with Honors) degree in Biology. During my time there, I served as a Teaching Assistant for courses such as Evolutionary Biology and Diversity of Life. I also served as a departmental undergraduate group leader for the Evolutionary Biology and Ecology group at Brown, where I advised students and helped them navigate their undergraduate journey there. As a multi-year University Teacher's Assistant, I led sections, tutored students, and helped write exams.
I have also served as a tutor to high school and middle school students and, following graduation, helped lead the Teaching Change initiative in Hawai‘i, which involved working with multiple classes across multiple schools to educate students on environmental science, forest pathology, and basic biology concepts. This work involved curriculum creation, introduction, and education across 9th- to 12th-grade students.
I currently work as a full-time disease researcher, primarily focused on stem cell biology for drug discovery. Growing up, I wasn't exposed to many people working in the sciences, and I would love to give back by inspiring the next generation of scientists and showing aspiring students the beauty in biology.
