My name is Taylor. I grew up in Charleston, SC, and I currently live in Redlands, CA. I love learning, and I am passionate about spreading this love through tutoring. I enjoy tutoring people of all ages from children to the elderly.

EDUCATION & TRAINING
I attended the University of Miami where I graduated summa cum laude with a degree in neuroscience and a minor in Chemistry. I spent two years as a biomedical engineering major, which provided a strong background in applied mathematics, before changing to neuroscience. I then attended New York University (NYU) School of Medicine where I earned both my Medical Degree and Master's in Clinical Investigation as part of a dual degree program. My Master's Thesis was primarily focused on applied statistical analysis. After medical school, I spent 7 years in neurosurgery residency, and I recently changed medical specialties to Neurology at Loma Linda University Medical Center.

PRIOR TUTORING TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have over 15 years of official tutoring experience. I began tutoring as an undergraduate at the University of Miami Academic Resource Center, tutoring other undergraduate students in math (from intro math to advanced calculus and differential equations), general and organic chemistry, physics, and various engineering classes.

I was the teaching assistant for the University of Miami Summer Scholars Program in Neuroscience, a program for rising high school seniors with college-level material. I offered one-on-one tutoring for all students, which became so popular that I formed a review group that met two nights a week for all interested students in addition to continuing individual sessions for any student still needing help. The same summer, I also created Taylor’s Tutoring Center at my apartment, where I tutored undergraduates in summer sessions taking organic chemistry, to raise money for my friend’s trip to Sudan.

I tutored various students throughout medical school and residency in anatomy, physiology, and other medical topics. I also spent much

Biostatistics

Biostatistics

Statistics were essential to my Master's Thesis. Rather than recruiting a statistician, I endeavored to use my existing skills in math, statistics, and computer programming as a platform for developing the additional skills needed to perform my own statistical analyses. I incorporated several texts that enabled mastery of these concepts and utilization of the programs required for my analyses. I enjoy statistics, and going forward in my career as an independent clinical investigator and academic physician, statistics as facilitated my ability to make research contributions and allowing for fruitful collaborations with others. I look forward to sharing this knowledge with others through tutoring.
Genetics

Genetics

I am a medical doctor with a strong background in genetics, both in the classroom and as it applies clinically to patient care. I began studying genetics nearly 20 years ago in college and have continued to learn and apply it through the present time. My translation lab research also utilizes genetics.
MCAT

MCAT

I am a medical doctor with 15+ years of experience tutoring people for test preparation for pre-med and step exams. I did very well on the MCAT as well as subsequent USMLE step exams. I have a strong background in both medical and surgical fields as I spent 7 years in neurosurgery before becoming a neurologist.
Pharmacology

Pharmacology

I am a medical doctor in neurology who is specializing in epilepsy. A large component of epilepsy is understanding the pharmacology of the different anti-seizure medications in terms of mechanism, metabolism, pharmacokinetics, and interactions. Furthermore, many anti-seizure medications have interactions with other drugs and either induce or inhibit the metabolism of themselves or other drugs, which can impact drug levels. Thus, it is critical to have a solid understanding of pharmacology, for both anti-seizure medications and other drugs being taken by the patient, as an epileptologist.
USMLE

USMLE

I am a medical doctor who took the USMLE Step 1-3 and passed with very high scores each time. I have also tutored many medical students to prepare them for all 3 steps of the USMLE, and I have helped many students over the years do well on these tests. I also have a broad medical and surgical background as I spent 7 years in neurosurgery before becoming a neurologist, which affords me additional expertise in many areas of the exams.

I requested for her to critique my CAPSTONE RESEARCH SLIDE PRDSENTATION. Research oriented, she wanted me to show data and the analysis.

She gave feedback about the content as well as the results in research which actually in the contrary of the "MYTHS". For example shortage of psychiatrist is really least relevant to national mental health crisis, but the lack of support to mental health organization.
