Algebra 1

Algebra 1

Algebra 1 introduces many fundamental mathematics concepts, like variation and solving variables. I know that basics come naturally to most children and can be taught memorably through a process of exploration and discovery with questions and discussion. I know how to show students to follow along with more advanced lessons and especially to grasp why the mathematics works intuitively.
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

Algebra 2 builds on the concepts explored in algebra 1. To become more comfortable with any type of number, large, small, decimal, or fraction, demands a high degree of precision that I have for my students. The ideas that will be necessary to master will be solving systems of equations and interpreting various functions. As well as those traditionally algebraic concepts, there are probability, sequential, and trigonometry concepts to be introduced.
Calculus

Calculus

Calculus was my first love affair, from the first time I asked in algebra, "what if you could divide by something as it becomes zero" and my teacher gifted me his calculus book to investigate. Literally, ask me anything, I will remember, from the definition of the derivative as a limit to how the integral takes the value of a point and translates it into a slope and beyond into series and infinity and back (if you don't mind some projective geometry).
Chemistry

Chemistry

Chemistry is the study of chemical interactions of elements and molecules. The foundational concepts of dimensional analysis, solving variables, and basic variation need to be mastered first so that the concepts can be understood. The concepts learned after this are the topics of the mole, molar mass, stoichiometry, heat, gas laws, diffusion, effusion, and optionally radiation and electricity.
Elementary (K-6th)

Elementary (K-6th)

In high school, I tutored a friend's son for two years. He was struggling in his classes and far below basic on his assessment tests. By the end of our tutoring, he was at proficiency in math and basic in his English. I do well with children, and I know how to simplify subjects so they're digestible for young students.
Elementary Math

Elementary Math

In High school, I tutored a struggling basic student to proficiency in math at the 4th grade level in six months. I know how to handle children, namely respectfully and patiently, to keep them learning, and I present things in whatever way suits them.
English

English

I took and passed both AP Language and Literature. Beyond the basics of structure, grammar, and syntax, English revolves around resolution or insight. To develop this, students need direction and practice.
Geometry

Geometry

The Elements of Geometry by Euclid very expertly defined a point as that part which has no depth, and geometry builds from there. From points come lines, and lines planes, and planes spaces. Typical Euclidean geometry deals with planar geometry which combines lines into angles, triangles, parallel and perpendicular lines, similarity, and equivalence. Definitions and postulates serve as the foundation on which the rest of geometry builds, eventually culminating in being able to state a provable fact from these strings of truths.
Prealgebra

Prealgebra

Prealgebra involves the basis for understanding algebra. It goes over topics of number sense and beginnings of algebraic analytic thinking. I've mastered and have many tips for jumpstarting a young students understanding. I use experiment and drills to show students their own understanding of the concepts so they feel more involved and interested in the subject as they discover it.
Precalculus

Precalculus

Precalculus is very careful evaluation of a closed door to calculus and preparation to open that door. It explores the types of functions calculus looks at in more depth than algebra. It prepares you to handle the series that will eventually build into integrals, and manipulate variables to problem solve. It introduces you to the hardest problems you can solve without calculus by combining geometry and algebra: constant velocity, average rate of change, slope, area, and some infinite summations.
SAT Math

SAT Math

SAT math involves a combination of logic and fairly simple mathematics. I know that tutoring to the content as well as the strategy is the most effective method of passing this section, whether the general or subject test. And having perfect scores for both of those, I can share my experience with students.
Trigonometry

Trigonometry

Trigonometry is a division of geometry that involves algebra. It's main use is in triangles, measurement, and circles. The functions of sine, cosine, and tangent will be explored heavily as well as their reciprocals and inverses.

Excellent math tutor

If you need a math tutor look no further because Zachary is great. I tried two math tutors before I found him. He is the best. He is super smart and patient. Zachary knows math and it shows. I never thought I would understand the math problems but He is very patient and explains it an easy to understand way. His schedule is flexible and he is a really nice guy. I definitely give him 10 plus stars. Thank you Zachary for providing your knowledge to others.

Impressive

Math seems hopeless for my sister but after a session with Zachary, it seems like there is a chance that she can learn math! Will be scheduling more with Zachary!

Helped restore confidence

Zachary helped restore my daughter’s confidence. We went from feeling hopeless with the pre-calculus material to being encouraged. He was patient and explained things well. We will return for more help when needed.

Knowledgable and patient tutor

Zachary was excellent. He explained things clearly and patiently. We went through the worksheet and he helped me understand all of it. He was very good at letting me work through the problens after explaining concepts so I can now feel confident working on my own. Thanks!

Very accommodating and patient

He provided and demonstrated very simple and clear techniques to help me to understand Variables and Precalculus materials. His flexible hours work great for us because our after school schedule changes quite a lot.

patient with my son

helped him with his math and to understand it, so he would have a easy time doing his math work at school and home with his home work..........................................................................................................................................

Very knowledgeable in math

Zach was very patient and knowledgeable with math. He can easily see what my son had trouble with and fixed it tonight. We will use his tutoring service again when my son has trouble with math.

Explained reasoning

Explained how to find the formulas rather than have me memorize them. He drew out each graph and showed me what each piece means. Very patient and didn't just give me the answer, but allowed me to figure it out.
