Hello! My name is Sofia, and I am a writing tutor, editor, and mentor with a passion for helping students develop confidence in their writing. I hold a bachelor's degree in Narrative Therapy, an interdisciplinary field that explores how storytelling can be used as a therapeutic tool. My studies combined creative writing, psychology, sociology, and the arts, giving me a strong understanding of both effective communication and the writing process.

I have several years of experience working with writers in academic and creative settings. As a writing tutor in a college writing center, I worked one-on-one with students of varying ages, backgrounds, and skill levels, including multilingual writers, Deaf students, and students with disabilities. I helped students strengthen essays across a wide range of subjects by improving organization, argumentation, clarity, grammar, and style. I also worked closely with students on personal statements, scholarship essays, and creative writing projects. In addition, I have experience as a freelance editor, providing developmental feedback and revision support for novelists.

My tutoring approach is collaborative and student-centered. Rather than simply correcting errors, I focus on helping students understand the reasoning behind revisions so they can become stronger, more independent writers. I believe every student has a unique voice worth developing, and I strive to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, taking risks, and growing as writers.
