Hello
My name is Nana, I'm an MD-PhD graduate student. I have approximately 5 years of teaching experience. During my undergrad I spent 7 our of my 8 semesters were spent in the lab as a teachers assistant and student researcher. I TA'd inorganic chemistry, general chemistry and organic chemistry. I am passionate about chemistry as a science and strive to bring the passion and excitement I feel about the subject into my lessons. In addition to teaching my undergrad colleagues. I also volunteered in various STEM enrichment programs in the community geared at increasing the interest and curiosity of kids K-12 pertaining to the natural sciences.
These experiences taught me "the way the student feels about the subject matters". By engaging the student in the concepts being taught and using real world examples curated to their interests, many eureka moments are observed. I aim to not only make tutoring sessions informative but also thought proving and intriguing.
As a big sister I have had to explain my current project(s) to my 10 year old sister many times, in these moments I utilize the skills I have gathered as a TA and tutor to break things down in a way she understands. I believe I can replicate this with students I tutor.
I have a fairly flexible schedule and I am open to answer any questions you may have.
Message me and LET'S SCHEDULE YOUR FIRST LESSON!
