Every single student I have ever tutored ended up liking or enjoying math! And I have tutored MANY students over the past 20 years! As a tutor, I rely not only on extensive math training to help my students understand and master math, but also on my passion for math. This passion seems to be contagious, and it always gives my students the confidence that math makes sense, that it is doable, it is enjoyable, and it is easy to master. A little about myself:
- TRAINING: I have an AS degree in Mathematics (as well as a BA-Business Admin & MA-Leadership and Life Coaching)
- EXPERIENCE: I have tutored math for 20 years (every level up to Calculus)
- SAT PREP: I have tutored with Sylvan Learning Center, Ivy West and other well-known SAT prep centers
- taught Math at Simpson University as an adjunct professor
- tutored math with various charter schools, using a variety of curriculums

I will help you make sense of your study world, teach and train you on how to prioritize, stay committed and on task, focus and create study plans. I can offer and help you develop or adopt study strategies that work for you individually. We will look at methods based on memorization (s.a. rehearsal and rote learning), communication (reading & listening), cues (flash cards), condensing information (summarizing and using keywords), visual imagery, acronyms and mnemonics, exam strategies, time management, organization and lifestyle changes. I also have a Masters' Degree in Life Coaching, which will come in very handy in helping you gain and personalize excellent study skills.

Amazing Tutor

Since Simona has been tutoring my daughter (five sessions so far) she has raised her grade from failing to a solid "C". She was doing OK on her math homework, but faltering with her tests - often failing them. With Simona's skills and subsequent boost in my child's confidence level and attitude, she has managed to get an A for the first time on a test. I am very relieved and confident that my daughter will be able to pass freshman Algebra 1 and progress on to Geometry next year.
