Hello!
My name is Abbey. I am the one on your left in my photo. I am a college graduate from Pepperdine University with a Bachelor's degree in Spanish. I am a current student at CSU Chico, working toward obtaining my single subject teaching credential. I began tutoring Spanish at Shasta College in Redding, Ca, and I continued tutoring at Pepperdine with the Division of International Studies and Languages. I have also done personal one-on-one tutoring sessions. I am a very cheerful and patient person and I have a great love for foreign languages, thus I enjoy being a tutor very much. Unlike many tutors, my goal is not to impress my students with what I know, but rather to do my best to meet them where they are at academically and bring them to whatever level they would like to be. I have a great way of calming stressed-out students who think they are incapable of getting A's in a Spanish class, and I help give them the confidence they need. There is nothing I enjoy more about tutoring than to see a lightbulb go on in a student, meaning a concept has finally clicked with him or her, or the happiness glowing on my students' faces when they bring back a test with an A+ on it, when they had never thought that was possible before.
