Hi, I’m Sania! I’m currently a freshman at UC San Diego, majoring in Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience, with aspirations to become a neuroscientist. I’ve always been passionate about learning and sharing knowledge, which led me to pursue various teaching and mentorship opportunities over the years.
My experience includes founding an online tutoring nonprofit during the summer of 2020. We supported over 50 elementary and middle school students in subjects like math, science, English, and Spanish through Zoom classes. I helped create customized lesson plans tailored to individual learning styles, ensuring that each student could thrive academically. Our initiative gained recognition from CBS, KCAL, and local newspapers, as we raised over $4,000 to support underprivileged students in India.
Also, I’ve worked as a swim instructor for over a year and a half, where I developed personalized lessons for children, including those with special needs. This role taught me how to make learning enjoyable and accessible for diverse students.
With 150+ volunteer hours at Kaiser Permanente, I also gained leadership experience mentoring new volunteers and planning fundraisers. Academically, I’m an AP Scholar with Distinction, having completed 12 AP courses, earning a 4.8 GPA, and achieving the Seal of Biliteracy in Spanish.
My tutoring approach is creative and student-focused, breaking down complex topics into relatable, simple ideas. I’m committed to helping students build confidence and achieve their goals. Feel free to reach out with questions or to schedule a lesson!
