Hi there! My name is Vick. I graduated from MIT (majored in Finance) in 2020 and have tutored for over 10 years. I specialize in SAT, ACT, and ISEE Prep as well as College Admissions (personal statements and interview prep).

I can help students brainstorm, draft, edit, and refine their college application essays and plan their admissions strategy to ensure they end up at their dream school. Students I have worked with have been accepted into universities such as Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Cornell, MIT, and uPenn to name a few.

Students that I have worked with on test prep have scored near perfect and perfect scores on the SAT, ACT, SSAT, and ISEE. I prefer to tutor/work with students 1:1 since it allows for better learning.

I’d be happy to walk your student through some potential strategies for both reading the passages as well as tackling the individual questions. For example, when you are reading the passage, you want to scribble down the main “theme” of each paragraph or underline any key sentences. This is important so that when you have a question that may reference this “theme”, you can quickly go back to the right paragraph. Also for individual questions, out of the 4 answer choices, usually 2 of them can be quickly eliminated which improves your chances of picking the right answer. And last, thinking through how to manage your time. It’s very easy to get caught up on a question that you cannot figure out the answer to. Sometimes, it is better to move onto the next section and the next questions and if there is time left over at the end, you can come back.
