Professor | Multilingual Educator | 16+ Years | MA

Kate K.

I am an experienced educator with more than 16 years of teaching and tutoring experience in Spanish, French, Italian, English, ESL, and academic writing. I also provide AP Spanish and AP French exam preparation.

I earned my BA in Spanish and French from the University of California and later completed an MA in Politics of Conflict and Violence through the University of Leicester. My academic background has required extensive work in language, writing, research, critical reading, and analysis across multiple disciplines.

I also studied at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile in Santiago, where my work included Spanish literature and linguistics. My background in French includes advanced study in conversation and linguistics, along with significant time spent in France and Francophone Africa.

I am a heritage speaker of Italian and a dual U.S./Italian citizen. I have completed Italian language proficiency coursework and have lived in Rome with my Italian family.

Over the years, I have worked with middle school, high school, college, and adult students. Sessions may include grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing, conversation, pronunciation, homework support, test preparation, and help strengthening overall academic confidence.

My goal is not simply to help a student finish an assignment, but to make the material understandable and manageable so that they become more independent and confident over time.

I tailor each session to the student’s level, school curriculum, and goals, whether they need ongoing academic support, exam preparation, stronger writing skills, or a more thorough understanding of the language.

I look forward to working with you!
