Writing tutor with quick turnaround time and a hisory of results

I have a degree in journalism and work in the writing and editing field, and I have a minor in environmental science. However, my true strength lies in my past experience as a tutor. I worked as a tutor for a year in the AVID program offered at the high school level. I tutored across multiple subjects (as was needed), including math, chemistry, biology, and English. During this time, I also did private chemistry tutoring. I have also worked as an essay editor and writing tutor at multiple levels, including the high school and university levels. In my past roles, my students saw letter grade jumps and I received high-quality feedback.

As a tutor, I aim to identify and meet individual students' needs. I find that many students struggle because they aren't understanding the instructions or material, so I aim to simplify and explain using hands-on examples. When I tutor in writing, I enjoy going through a piece of writing with the student to explain why I am making edits and how they can look for the same issues in the future all on their own. This way, they can progress.

I have worked in the classroom setting (as an AVID tutor) as well as in one-on-one in-person and online tutoring formats.
