I have a Bachelors degree in Early Childhood & Adolescence, and a Masters degree in Child Development. I am passionate about supporting young learners and helping them build strong academic foundations, especially in reading, phonics, spelling, and writing. My goal is to create a positive and encouraging learning environment where students feel confident, supported, and motivated to grow.
My teaching experience began as a preschool teacher at the Chaffey College Child Development Center, where I worked with young children to strengthen early literacy skills and school readiness. Since 2021, I have worked in an elementary school as a bilingual educator supporting students in grades Kindergarten through 5th grade. I provide instruction in both small group and one-on-one settings, helping students with letter recognition, letter sounds, blending, spelling, reading fluency, and comprehension.
I use a structured teaching method based on each students needs and learning style. One of the approaches I use is the Orton-Gillingham method, which provides a step by step system for building strong reading and phonics skills. I believe learning should be engaging, and confidence building, and I strive to help every student feel successful both during tutoring sessions and in the classroom.
