I’m Carley. I graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s of science. I was a pre-veterinary medicine student, which means I took a lot of biology and chemistry classes. Upon my acceptance to veterinary school I decided what I really loved about learning was teaching others. I went on to get my Master’s degree and spent time in graduate school as a trashing assistant. My favorite part of the job was working one on one with students and helping them understand new ideas. After graduate school I began working as a safety officer with a specialty in Biological safety. This gave me even more experience working in a biology based field.
I love working one on one with students. My teaching style is mainly questions based. My goal is to help students see the information as an integrated process rather than a series of facts to be memorized. If they can understand how everything works together, it is much easier to retain the information and answer any questions they may be asked on an exam. It also makes the material much more interesting when someone can understand why something that seems superfluous is actually a fundamental step in the process!
I have a flexible schedule and will do my best to provide prompt responses. Feel free to reach out to me to schedule a lesson!
