Hello! My name is Kristyn, and I have a Bachelor's degree in Health with minors in Biology and in Medicine and Society, a Masters of Public Health, and a Juris Doctor. Having spent so much time as a student, I know the difference it can make to have a professor or tutor who not only cares about your grades or how well you know the material, but also really hears your concerns and works with you and your learning style to manage stress and be comfortable applying what you have learned.

I have previous experience tutoring students from elementary to college age in subjects including math and writing. I've also worked as a teaching assistant for undergraduate health classes and have experience holding review sessions to help students prepare for exams, giving tailored feedback on assignments, and answering questions about class material. Generally, I approach tutoring sessions by asking if there is a specific assignment or material that the student wants to focus on, seeing how the student is currently working through the material, identifying and discussing points of confusion or opportunities for the most growth, and working through sample problems or exercises to apply new skills and build comfort with the material.

My goals as a tutor are always to help students feel comfortable with what they are learning, to build the tools that students can then use to approach other material, and to be receptive to questions and different learning styles.
