I approach the task of tutoring students as an experienced educator. The larger portion of my teaching experience (1979-2016) is in the Elementary School as a Vocal Music educator. I also taught 2 years in Junior High World History and Geography in Clio, Michigan. I have taken 3 years of Graduate courses in Roman Catholic Theology, have held a certificate as Director of Religious Education, have taught religion in Catholic parishes and schools, and have particular interest at this time in Traditional Catholic Theology

My Bachelor of Music degree (1975) includes an additional Major in History, and Social Science education.

I bring over 40 years experience as a performer and teacher in band, orchestra, and vocal ensembles, and chamber music, as well as Catholic Catechesis.

As a Tutor of Music History or Vocal Ear Training I would approach better vocalization, as well as affective listening to various styles of history. Applied music students can greatly improve their approach to performance. In a competitive musical environment, these skills are increasingly important as a music student advances into university, semi-professional, and professional ensemble performing.

As a Tutor of Religion my emphasis is orthodoxy. In Music, World History or American History, I would assist students in independent research learning skills for analysis with emphasis on develop a strong historical perspective on ideas, facts and concepts that impact our lives today. The goal of tutoring is for the student to obtain a minimal competency in essential facts in the subject they choose to pursue. These include the contributions of important persons, timelines and important events that shape today’s world. We will direct studies to pursue a student’s particular interests as a student of history. We will emphasize obtaining research skills to study with the goal of achieving and absorbing information available in the wonderful online and library resources available both online and in libraries.

Religion

My personal approach to Religion is through apologetics of the Catechism of the Council of Trent and the Traditional Latin Mass, the set of doctrines perfectly current with many millions of believers up to the Second Vatican Council.
