Hello, my name is Audrey O. I'm a TEFL certified personal tutor for children. I enrolled in ITA in March 2019 and received my certificate in October of the same year. Since my certification, I've been able to gain valuable experience working with various students with different backgrounds, personalities, and learning styles. Previously, I had worked in literacy programs for children and adults at a public library for almost 5 years.

Over the years, I have learned both from my own learning experiences as well as helping others to learn, that patience and comfort are key. Because of this, from the beginning of my ESL tutoring career, I've seen the benefit of designing and adjusting detailed lesson plans for each individual student in order to meet their personal needs. I am trauma-informed and have experience working with ADHD and Dyslexia. I also have experience working with advanced students as well as absolute beginners. I specialize in building language confidence in conversational skills as well as improving reading and comprehension skills. Whether your goals are short or long-term, I am here to help!

Before we begin regular sessions, I prefer to have a consultation with my students. During this consultation, we will discuss what specifically I will be helping your child with. I perform a needs analysis to see exactly what needs to be improved as well as how your child learns best regarding learning style. From there we can discuss what is to be expected from tutoring sessions and make appropriate goals. I use detailed lesson plans in which I adapt to each student and make sure to keep learning as fun and effective as possible. No matter what, everything is adaptable and will be personally tailored to benefit you. Regardless of how long a session is, there will always be time to ask questions and review what's been learned.
